There is a narrative, a story line in the United States about how uneducated white people lost their high paying manufacturing jobs. It goes like this: " immigrants and people of color took my job "...now there is some small amount of truth to that but really what happened is more fascinating.
I was in a rock and roll band with a guy who worked at the Ford Wixom Assembly Plant in Wixom, Michigan. He and his friends smoked weed, drank alcohol, snorted cocaine and smoked crack among other things on the premises and at a local bar and across the street at the union hall for 30 years until they smoked and drank and snorted the plant in to oblivion: it is no longer there. The quality of their work, as you might imagine, was not great. This trend could be found across all plants and all companies. At the same time, these guys were well paid with tremendous benefits all for doing jobs that required no education. That is the main point. Those jobs could be done by anybody, anywhere for much less and their labor force wasn't stoned, drunk and stupid. The fact is, the unions, because they got too much for their constituents, cut their own throats. Expensive, drunk and stoned labor replaced by cheaper sober laborers. The fact is these vicious, meth smoking, alcoholics who support Trump have been promised something that will never happen. Cushy jobs for the uneducated that pay like a Doctor are gone forever. Get educated or get left behind. White ignorant people are their own worst enemies and I have no sympathy for stupid, lazy, drunk assholes. By the way, I am a white person too. Below is a link showing Detroit Auto workers drinking and doing drugs on their break. Yes, so unfair they lost their cushy jobs they never respected. Ask yourself this. Would you drive a car built by these stoned assholes? Would you buy one?
